The studio were I’m working partner up with a well know New Zealand brand in a food related project and since it “became” my little baby I was able to be involved in the photoshoot.
As I anticipated on my facebook page, last Saturday I walked my hungry body to Shed 10 in Queens Wharf for the 2014 Street Eats.
I think we all go through stages when it comes to alcoholic drinks. At first I was 0 alcohol, I didn’t want to waste time thinking what to order or trying not to slip the glass off my clumsy hands at the club. During my younger “younger” years (’cause Im not that old you people) I went through my tequila shot phase, cheap drinks and massive hangovers. Then it came the time were the percentage of boys in my group of friends was a bit overwhelming, so I became a beer connoisseur, ales, lagers, wheat beers, you name it. Then I was exclusively a cocktail girl, the fancier the better, trying to perfect a Cosmopolitan just because they drank it on Sex and the city. (now I rather go with cranberry juice and gin, vodka doesn’t like me)
Hey everybody, I apologize for the lack of post last friday, I’m still trying to adjust to the new schedule and website.
Some of you may know (probably because of y attempt of live-tweeting during it) that last Monday I went to the Auckland Museum for the first installment of LATE at the Museum, a series of events where a group of panelist discuss a specific topic.
A few weeks ago we (the studio) were taken to Federal Delicatessen for lunch by some work mates (the suits) The moment I saw the place I was “I have to bring Le Boyfriend here” I just completely fell in love with it, probably because of it’s 1950’s diner’s vibe.
If you live in New Zealand, or if you are currently in Auckland you probably have seen all of the posters, banners, ads, and such about August being the Restaurant Month. Heaps of restaurant, dinners and cafes are offering discounts, set menus and offers because of this, so its fair to say that probably Im going to gain some weight this month, and you are probably going to see a lot of food in the blog.
But (as the description says) I don’t only share my adventures on kiwi-land but my misadventures, so lets begin this week with my first cooking FAIL of the month.
Hey!
They weekend is almost here. Thank you to all that checked out the new webpage, shared and subscribed. I had a really really really busy week, so Im planning on a “pajamas all day, breakfast in bed, movies till late” kind of weekend or maybe I’ll just make the best of Auckland’s Restaurant Month and find a few new cool places to go to dinner.
One of the things that mostly changed when I decided to come to New Zealand, was grocery shopping. For they previous 22 years I have lived with my parents and Le Mother was in change of the whole shopping ordeal. To this day I don’t think I’ve actually made a full “Adult” purchase, there is always a pack of lollies or some children cereals that sneak in the bag.
Hello there, if you are new here, I’m Jules an Argentinian graphic designer, foodie and travel lover who decided to pack a bag and come to live all the way to New Zealand. In here I share my adventures and misadventures during my travels as well as good food, places and events. These are the Kiwi Diaries.
If you are not new here… welcome back!! Im happy to announce that as from today Im launching www.thekiwidiaries.com I finally decided to start hosting my own blog and bought my own domain. You might have been re-directed from my old website mykiwidiaries.wordpress.com and probably read about the big changes so without further ado let me explain what they are…
