Postcards from Zurich [Part 1]
This year, Le Boyfriend and I celebrated our 8th anniversary together… seems like a lifetime ago we met and to celebrate it, we decided to pack our bags and take the first plane to Switzerland.
The weather was a little chilly, but it was the perfect weather to enjoy some swiss delicatessen, a classic cheese fondue with bread and potatoes and chocolate. We left our bags at our Airbnb which was located not too far from the Alt Stadt and was a lovely residential area and spent the first day walking the city.
You can walk the Alt Stadt in just a matter of hours, just by the river Limmat you can already appreciate the amazing architecture the city has to offer, the Grossmünster and Fraumünster church, one on each side of the bridge. The Augustinergasse is filled with shops and flags and the Bahnhof is incredibly large.
We ended up sitting by the Zürichsee (the lake) watching people go by until it was time to take the metro back home [Le Boyfriend looooved the Zürich metro because they still look old] to get changed and start our hunt for the best cheese fondue in the city.
After we stuffed our faces with delicious melted cheese and wine we walked back to the lake to take a look at the city by night.
